Comedian, film and television sensation Kevin Hart, star of the hit film “Ride Along” and the highly successful TV show “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” will perform at Cal State San Bernardino’s Coussoulis Arena on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 8 p.m. Sponsored by the CSUSB Associated Students, Inc., Hart will bring his all new standup comedy show to the arena. There will also be a free sneak preview screening of Hart’s new movie “The Wedding Ringer” on Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. Hart, who lives in Los Angeles with his family, is no stranger to CSUSB, and his fans and supporters feel the same way. Hart last appeared at Coussoulis Arena in March 2012. Tickets to that performance sold out in three days, the fastest of any performer at CSUSB. Hart currently stars in “About Last Night,” a re-make of the iconic 1986 film, which opened to a well-known box-office success. His film, “Ride Along,” opposite Ice Cube, has grossed more than $100 million and is already spawning a sequel that is scheduled to shoot later this year. He is also set to begin filming “Get Hard” with Will Ferrell, and can be seen later this year in Miramax Films’ “The Wedding Ringer.” His television series, “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” premiered its third season on BET in September. Hart began his career sizing men and women for footwear, when a chance, electrifying performance at amateur night in a Philadelphia comedy club changed his life. He quit his shoe salesman job and began performing full time at venues such as The Boston Comedy Club, Caroline’s, Stand-Up NY, The Laugh Factory and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. However, it was his first appearance at the “Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival” that led Hart into roles in feature films such as “Paper Soldiers,” “Scary Movie 3,”and “Along Came Polly”opposite Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston. In 2012, Hart hosted the 2012 MTV Video Music Award’s garnering much industry praise for his appearance, before his next comedy tour, “Let Me Explain,” took him to 90 U.S. cities along with appearances in Europe and Africa. Records have not withstood under his LME tour either, as Hart became only the second American in history to sell out London’s O2 Arena. Hart also had a starring role in Screen Gem’s “Think Like a Man,” a comedy based on Steve Harvey's bestselling book, which grossed $95 million worldwide, and had a supporting role in the Universal Studios, Nick Stoller comedy, “The Five-Year Engagement,” produced by Judd Apatow. In September 2011 Hart released “Laugh at My Pain,” the feature film version of his comedy tour (under the same name). The movie grossed more than $7 million, and was 2011’s most successful film of those released in less than 300 theaters. The LAMP tour was so successful, it catapulted Hart to 2011’s number one comedian on Ticketmaster, and in February 2011, he sold out the Nokia Theater for two nights in a row, breaking the record previously set by Eddie Murphy. This lead to the LAMP DVD hitting double platinum in February 2012, after being on sale for only one month. Hart’s previous film credits include “Little Fockers” with Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller, “Death at a Funeral,” “Fool’s Gold” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin.” In 2009, Hart’s one-hour Comedy Central special “I’m A Grown Little Man” became one of the highest rated specials for the network, and in 2010, Hart’s DVD “Seriously ... Funny” was one of the fastest selling DVDs, going triple platinum, aided by and the Comedy Central special of the same name, which was the highest rated comedy special of 2010. Hart’s other television credits include, hosting BET’s classic stand-up comedy series “Comic View: One Mic Stand,” ABC’s “The Big House,” which he also executive produced and wrote, and recurring roles on “Love, Inc.,” “Barbershop” and “Undeclared.” With his passion for stand-up and entertainment, Hart continues to tour the country to sold-out audiences. A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.
