Associates at the Rite Aid pharmacy located at 25710 Barton Rd. in Loma Linda honored one local student receiving Folds of Honor KidCents educational scholarships totaling $5,000 during a special in-store event on Friday, October 5.

This year’s round of scholarships, which total nearly $2 million, completes a three-year, $6 million commitment by The Rite Aid Foundation to Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to children and spouses of fallen or disabled service members. In all, The Rite Aid Foundation’s KidCents program is awarding 422 scholarships across the nation. Since first partnering with Folds of Honor in 2015, The Rite Aid Foundation has awarded more than 1,500 educational scholarships, totaling more than $7.1 million.

KidCents was developed by The Rite Aid Foundation to provide Rite Aid customers an opportunity to do even more to help the kids in the communities Rite Aid serves. Through KidCents, members of Rite Aid's loyalty program, wellness+ rewards, can round up their in-store or online purchases to the nearest dollar and give their change to one of more than 440 nonprofit organizations focused on improving the health and wellbeing of children.

Since its inception in 2001, The Rite Aid Foundation has awarded more than $36 million to non-profit organizations. Additionally, Rite Aid, through the efforts of its customers, supplier partners and associates, has raised more than $87 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals across the country since 1994.
