SMASH Gang Enforcement Results in 53 Arrests

On Sept. 20 the Colton Police Department (CPD) hosted a regional SMASH gang enforcement operation in the city of Colton. Allied agencies from the CPD, San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department, Fontana Police Department, Rialto police Department, San Bernardino Police Department, Montclair Police Department, Barstow Police Department, S.B.D.A. Investigators, San Bernardino County Probation, and CDC Parole Apprehension Team participated. The operation resulted in 53 arrests for misdemeanor and felony warrants, under the influence and drug possession, illegal fire arm possession, probation and parole violations, and grand theft auto. Officers had one foot pursuit and were involved in two vehicle pursuits. The Parole Apprehension Team conducted 56 parole compliance checks on 56 residences in the city. Over 100 law enforcement officers were involved in this operation.
