GRAND TERRACE>> The Lions Club hosted the 36th Annual Pot of Gold Raffle and Dinner Sat. Nov. 5 at the National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino, California. The theme this year was “Lion’s Speakeasy: A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” and many people dressed up in their favorite '20s style clothes. More than 200 people came to the event to dance, enjoy dinner and see who would win the $20,000 grand prize. The proceeds of this event are used to support the local charities and services provided by the Grand Terrace Lions Club throughout the year, as well as youth programs, local libraries, youth soccer, youth baseball and more. This year, two couples went in on one ticket and was the grand prize winner of the $20,000 pay out. Eric and Karen Redford, and Alisha Serrano and Dale Arrieta were the four lucky winners of the raffle. Raffle tickets were $200 and only 250 tickets were available for sale. The annual event was chaired this year by Dani Bubier, Ruthanne Christianson and Mayor Darcy McNaboe along with the help of other fellow Lions. "It was quite an event," Bubier said. "It seemed to be a lot of fun for everyone who attended and it wad nice that we made enough money to support local charities and we're happy about that." The annual Pot of Gold event is the organizations largest fundraising event of the year. For more information about the Grand Terrace Lions Club, visit www.grandterracelions.com.
