New way of communication at Vista del Lago High School

Vista del Lago High School is taking a unique approach to communicating with the student body through the school’s “Principal Council Meetings.” The idea behind the meetings is to create a way to communicate other than the morning announcements.

At the first of five planned meetings for the year, teachers in 2nd period selected one class representative to attend. The meeting was led by a panel including Principal Erik Swanson and Associated Student Body leaders. The meeting covered cyber bullying, upcoming athletic and academic events, homecoming, dress code and tardy policies, campus issues, and campus expectations. The panel also took questions from class representatives. The representatives were then responsible for giving the updates to their class the next day.

Each teacher signed off that the representative communicated the information to the class.
