This week's Grand Terrace High School Athlete of the Week is none other than 15-year-old Sophomore, Carrie Carlstrom. Balancing a rigorous academic schedule with her athletic pursuits, Carrie exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete.

With an impressive 4.3 GPA, Carrie has been excelling both in the classroom and on the tennis courts. She has been playing tennis for just two years, but her rapid progress has been impressive. As a freshman, Carrie earned a spot on the varsity team, and now, as a sophomore, she’s moved up to Varsity Doubles One—an achievement that speaks to her hard work and dedication.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Carrie has earned numerous academic accolades, including a place on the Principal’s Honor Roll and recognition through the ACES program. Despite her busy schedule, Carrie continues to excel in everything she does.

Looking ahead, Carrie plans to attend a four-year university, where she hopes to study something she’s passionate about. She’s confident that with dedication and the support of her biggest inspirations, her parents, she will find success in whatever she chooses to pursue.

When asked about her biggest inspirations, Carrie shared, “My mom and dad have always been my biggest cheerleaders. They’ve supported me in everything I do, constantly reminding me that the sky is the limit.”

When she’s not excelling in tennis or academics, Carrie enjoys spending time with her family, participating in ASB activities, playing tennis with friends, and even crocheting. Her positive attitude and well-rounded interests make her a standout both at school and in her personal life.

Carrie lives by the quote, “Failure makes more winners than success,” a testament to her perseverance and resilience and a fitting motto for an athlete who continues to strive for greatness.

We wish this Lady Titan all the best as she continues to shine both on the court and in her academic pursuits. We are excited to see what’s next for Carrie. With her talent, drive, and support system, the best is surely yet to come!
