The Unforgettables Foundation in Redlands, serving all of San Bernardino, Riverside, and Orange Counties in SoCal plus Clark County in Nevada around Las Vegas, knows all too well the consequences of the toll of violence on our children. This 20 year charity has assisted over 6000 at risk and in grief families struggling with the financial costs of burying a son or daughter— and they want to save lives.

Their founder, Tim Evans, M.Div., CFRE, former founding chaplain of Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital and recent recipient of the Desert Communities Association of Fund-raising Professionals/AFP Outstanding Professional of the Year—2018/19, created the idea of educating and equipping local parents, professionals, and students studying for child related careers in a one day symposium. Cal State University San Bernardino Dr Tomas Morales agreed and for 6 years has shared his Palm Desert campus to host the Annual Children and Families in Crisis Conference.

This March 15, in Palm Desert— famed researcher and educator Dr James Garbarino from Loyola University Chicago will lecture on the causes of youth violence at the When Kids Kill other Kids Summit. Tickets can be reached at www.unforgettables.org or on the Facebook page of The Unforgettables Foundation through EventBrite.

Those who strive to keep our kids alive in the midst of challenges that can be fatal, will find him and the other speakers inspiring. San Bernardino activist Terrance Stone, CEO, Young Visionary’s Academy will speak in the afternoon, following a panel discussion which will feature Inland California leaders on the front lines like Police Chief Paulino is with the San Bernardino City Unified School District Police; Public Defender Kellie Byward; Pediatric ER Physician Thomas Sherwin, MD; Riverside County Assistant Superintendent of Schools Shannon Baskett; Psychologist Dr Monica Wilson and Riverside County DA Mike Hestrin. Stan Morrison the retired Director of Athletics at University of California Riverside will serve as the Emcee as well.
