On Wednesday, June 5th, 2019, the San Bernardino Transportation Authority (SBCTA) board of directors voted unanimously to elect Grand Terrace Mayor, Darcy McNaboe as President of SBCTA, an agency committed to improving transportation solutions to over 2.1 million residents.

Mayor McNaboe was elected to serve as Vice President of SBCTA in 2018, and was elevated to President to complete the term vacated by San Bernardino County Supervisor, James Ramos, when he was elected to the California State Assembly. Mayor McNaboe’s recent election will allow her to serve a full term as President. During the same meeting, SBCTA board elected Colton Mayor, Frank Navarro to serve as Vice President.

Mayor McNaboe has represented Grand Terrace as an SBCTA board member since 2015. She has served as chair of the authority’s Metro Valley Study Session and General Policy Committee during her tenure. Mayor McNaboe also represents the city as a member of the Omnitrans Board of Directors which provides 11 million rides annually to passengers in its service area.

“I am honored to continue my service as SBCTA President, through this organization we are able to address local transportation needs for each of the member agencies while creating regional transportation systems that connect with neighboring transportation systems. The regional focus and collaboration of the member agencies is crucial to providing our residents and businesses with access to efficient multi-model transportation systems."

SBCTA is a championed supporter of freeway construction projects, regional and local road improvements, train and bus transportation, railroad crossings, managing system call boxes, ridesharing, congestion management efforts, and long-term planning studies.
