Organization Donates 4,500 Dictionaries to Local Schools

Knowledge is power! That’s why, for the tenth year in a row, the San Bernardino Rotary, with the help of Stater Bros. Markets, is donating 4,500 regular and bilingual dictionaries to every third grade student in the San Bernardino City Unified School District. Amidst education cutbacks and shrinking budgets, San Bernardino Rotary District 5330 proves yet again how critical it is to nurture students and education. Providing young readers with necessary tools for success is one way to do so, and this year is no exception. “The mission of a San Bernardino Rotarian is to do good deeds to help make our city a better place and what better place to start than with our children,” said San Bernardino Rotary member, Ed Ridder. Palm Elementary was the first San Bernardino school to receive its donation. Recently, Palm Elementary students were greeted by 10 members from Rotary District 5330 and Stater Bros. Charities and presented with their new dictionaries.
