The Veterans Wall of Freedom board is pleased to announce the monument is finally under construction. The Letters for the Wall of Freedom are currently being manufactured by Quick Crete Corporation in their Norco Facility. On Oct. 14, a second contractor, Act 1 Construction, will begin the construction of the footings for the monument in Pico Park. When the monument letters and the footing are completed, the monument letters will be delivered to Pico Park and mounted on the footings. The current schedule calls for this work to be completed by the end of the first week of November. On Veterans Day, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m., this newly constructed monument, the Veterans Wall of Freedom, will be unveiled as part of the Veterans Day ceremonies. All area Veterans, family of Veterans and residents are welcome to attend. The Veterans Wall Of Freedom are pleased to announce the addition of new sponsors listed below and wish to thank each of our sponsors for their generosity. With these new sponsors combined with our current sponsors, we are pleased to announce that fundraising has now exceeded $100,000. The following recent Gold ($5,000) and Silver ($1,000) sponsors helped us reach this milestone. Burrtec contributes to countless local charities and lends support, products and staff to community-based charity events, ranging from festivals to fundraisers. By reaching out and helping to build the Veterans Wall of Freedom with this generous Gold Sponsorship, Burrtec is helping sustain the quality of life in our community. Burrtec has a rich legacy of community involvement that extends beyond the boundaries of waste collection. Tim and Louise Lunstrum, owners of the local business Tim’s Mobile Trucking, are long-time community supporters. Tim and Louise generously support local charities and causes, financially and with their time, have become recent Gold Sponsors. Tim and Louise are both long time members of the Grand Terrace Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce and many other organizations in Grand Terrace and the surrounding area. Darcy and Jim McNaboe are committed to community service and supporting local charities and have become Gold Sponsors. Darcy McNaboe currently serves as the Mayor of Grand Terrace. Burt and Deborah Seuylemezian, owners of Burt’s Jewelry recently celebrated their twentieth anniversary in business in Grand Terrace. As part of their celebration, they became Silver sponsors. A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.
