Since 2005 The Church of Fire in Christ has been providing a number of programs for church and community members as well as service for the homeless. Over the years, the children rooms at their Grand Terrace location have become outdated. In an effort to raise funds to bring these much-used spaces current, Children’s Ministry Director and Administrator, Sophie Carrillo organized a “Laughter for Kids” fundraiser. Carrillo arranged for one of America’s Top Inspirational Comedians, Nazareth to perform for the event. Nazareth is well-known throughout the nation for his clean, family-friendly comedy. Planning the fundraiser required teamwork, planning, excitement and prayers. To support and invest in the future of the children in the community, the goal was to sell out the event. VIP tickets were also sold which included a Meet and Greet with Nazareth. The amiable comedian made guests feel welcome and even took pictures with each VIP guest. “He really made us laugh and was well worth it,” Carrillo commented. Funds to have fans placed in the rooms as well as painting and repairs are still needed. The church incites the community to help make this possible with a small donation. For more information contact Sophie Carrillo at (909) 238-1630 or send donations to 12354 Mt Vernon Ave, Grand Terrace, CA 92313 ATT: Sophie Carrillo – Children’s Ministry Director-Administrator. Senior Pastors Julio and Carol Sandoval provide services on Sunday at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. exclusively for Spanish speakers. Services are also help on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. for Spanish and Thursdays at 7 p.m. for English. Everyone is welcome to come out and worship with the Church of Fire in Christ.
