SAN BERNARDINO>> On Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at about 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a possible residential burglary in progress in the 3500 block of North Sepulveda Ave. A neighbor witnessed some suspicious activity which led them to believe a burglary might be in progress. The police were notified and responded to find the residence ransacked. The suspects fled in a silver-colored two-door sedan with black racing stripes.
Within an hour, officers located the described vehicle pulling into the Circle K on N. Del Rosa Ave. The front passenger immediately fled from the vehicle and was unable to be located. The driver (23 year old adult male) and rear passenger (juvenile) were detained. Thousands of dollars in stolen jewelry was recovered from inside the vehicle and on the occupants. The driver was on probation for burglary and both were arrested for burglary.
Earlier on the same day it was believed that other community members in the north end of San Bernardino called police to report this same vehicle and occupants possibly casing neighborhoods. With the working partnership between the community and police, these suspects were able to be apprehended and the victim, on this instance, was able to recover some of her prized possessions.
