REDLANDS>> Detectives have released artist’s renderings of two men suspected in a pair of recent armed robberies and an assault. At about 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, four University of Redlands students were walking in the area of Brockton Avenue and Grove Street when they were approached by two men who brandished handguns and robbed them of their cell phones and other personal belongings. The suspects were described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with a thin to medium build, short hair and a tattoo of cursive writing on the left side of his neck; and a black male in his 20s, 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. About 45 minutes later suspects matching the same description robbed a man at gunpoint as he sat in his vehicle in a parking lot in downtown Redlands. During this robbery, the Hispanic male struck the victim with his gun, causing injuries to the victim’s face. In both cases, the suspects were seen getting into a white, 4-door sedan after the robberies. Redlands Police developed information the black male suspect is possibly named “Trae” and is a transient in the Inland Empire.
