SAN BERNARDINO >> On April 23rd, a community of local authors gathered at San Bernardino County's Norman F. Feldheym Central Library's Kellogg Room to sign books and to discuss their works. The genre of books ranged from fiction, non-fiction, science fiction, fantasy, poetry, political cartoons, children’s books, young adult books, local history, and mystery. A group of poets from PoetrIE performed readings in the Bing Wong Auditorium, adjacent to the Kellogg Room. This program was made possible by Linda Yeh, the library's Program/Young Adult/Volunteer Coordinator, who organized the event in an effort to support both the authors and the local community. When asked what inspired her to do this, she said "It'd be nice to have the public meet the authors, and the authors to meet their public. It's also a good way for the authors to network with each other." This event of meeting authors, according to Linda Yeh, only happens once or twice a year. It is an excellent way of meeting these writers and hearing their point of view on the joys and struggles of being a literary artist. The Norman F. Feldheym Central Library opened to the public on September 30, 1985. This is the fifth central library building in San Bernardino since the first rented house back in 1891. The Norman F. Feldheym Central Library is among four other San Bernardino County libraries including the Howard M. Rowe Branch, the Paul Villasenor Branch, and the Dorothy Inghram Branch Libraries.
