2014 Appreciation & Empty Bowl Luncheon

The Moreno Valley Salvation Army is hosting its 3rd Annual Appreciation & Empty Bowl Luncheon at the Moreno Valley Conference & Recreation Center 14075 Frederick Street in Moreno Valley. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 4 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event will honor iHerb as the 2014 National Corporate Donor of the Year and Second Harvest Food Bank of Riverside & San Bernardino Counties as the 2014 Local Corporate Donor of the Year. Marilinn Trudell will be honored with the Volunteer Achievement award for faithfully coordinating The Salvation Army’s Food Pantry in Moreno Valley for over 10 years. Pastor Barry E. Knight of Celebration Worship Church will give the Keynote Address. The Salvation Army Divisional Commander Major Lee Lescano will conduct the installation of the newest Salvation Army Moreno Valley Advisory Board members. New members include Corey Jackson (Sigma Beta Xi), Richard Archer (Moreno Valley Cultural Arts Foundation) and Sergeant Melvin “Butch” Rasmussen (Moreno Valley Police). The Moreno Valley Cultural Arts Foundation will auction empty art bowls decorated by local prominent artists & homeless student artists. Additionally, students of Valley View High School will present a documentary raising awareness on the epidemic of homelessness within Moreno Valley Unified School District. More than 3,000 MVUSD students currently live in homelessness. 100% of the funds from the auction will go to The Salvation Army for homeless prevention. Tickets are $30 per person. Tickets include lunch and a souvenir Salvation Army soup bowl. Visterra Credit Union will offer an Opportunity Drawing for a 48” LED Smart TV and a one week Cabo San Lucas vacation (land only). Opportunity tickets are $10 each and proceeds will benefit The Salvation Army’s 2014 summer camp program. Event tickets can be purchased at https://events.usawest.org.
