Stater Bros. Appoints Gil Salazar to Vice President Information Technology

SAN BERNARDINO >> Pete Van Helden, President and Chief Executive Officer of Stater Bros. Markets, is proud to announce the appointment of Gil Salazar to the position of Vice President Information Technology (IT) for Stater Bros. Markets. Salazar reports to Van Helden. “We are pleased to welcome Gil to the Stater Bros. ‘Family’ of Employees,” stated Van Helden. “His broad range of IT experience and leadership brings new opportunities which will allow Stater Bros. to meet the current and future needs of our customers, and all areas of the company,” Van Helden further added. Salazar brings more than 27 years of information technology experience to his new position. Prior to Stater Bros., Salazar served as Director, IT Services for Hyundai Capital America. He also served as Director–Information Technology for Partners Consulting, providing IT services to clients across multiple industries; Associate Vice President of IT Services at AIG; VP Information Technology for Ford Motor Credit; and Senior Manager–Systems Infrastructure for ConAgra Foods Inc. Salazar holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Liberty University. He has also completed the Computer Information Systems Program from the United States Naval Technical Training Center and served four years in the United States Navy during Operation Desert Storm and Operation Southern Watch. Additionally, Salazar is a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC) Executive Management Program and a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. “The decision to bring Gil Salazar on board to expand the company’s digital presence demonstrates Stater Bros.’ commitment to our ‘valued’ customers,” stated Jack H. Brown, Executive Chairman of Stater Bros. Markets and fellow Navy Veteran. “This decision also reflects the confidence I have in my Executive Management Team and Gil’s management and technical expertise to navigate us into the future,” Brown further stated.
