Calling all train enthusiasts, history buffs and anyone wanting to learn about Southern California's railway history. The Spring Railroadiana Swap Meet at Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris is coming to town Saturday, March 1 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. "It's one of the West's largest celebrations of train memorabilia and railroading history," said Joe Fuller, president and chief executive officer of the Orange Empire Railway Museum. "Knowing that you have a piece of history is a big thrill for rail fans." The open-air fundraising event for the nonprofit museum will feature 180-plus tables of railroad antiques, collectibles, art, books and model and toy trains. Visitors can see everything from highly detailed scale models to family heirloom trains, lanterns, signs, signals and archival photos. Historians will be on-hand to tell stories of how rail transportation shaped the Southern California we know today. Admission is $7 for ages 12 and up, $5 for ages 5-11, and free for ages 4 and under. OERM members have free admission. To ride the trains, trolleys and explore the museum, there is an additional fee of $5 for ages 12 and up, $3 for ages 5-11; and ages 4 and under are free. For more information contact the museum at 951.943.3020.
