The runway is turning pink for one night. The Loma Linda University Health System Department of Plastic Surgery will host its fifth annual “The Pink Runway,” a Breast Cancer Reconstruction Seminar and Fashion Show at the Riverside Auditorium and Events Center on Mission Inn Ave. in Riverside on Sunday, Sept. 29. The event is slated to start at noon, where guests will be able to show off their Sunday best at the Pink Carpet arrivals and photos. From there, participants will break into sessions to educate themselves about breast reconstruction, healthy eating habits, how to look your best at all times, and some yoga to help relax. “The Pink Runway” will showcase breast cancer survivors who have gone through post-mastectomy reconstruction surgery as models wearing Macy’s latest fashions. K-FROG, the music radio station, is sponsoring the event with K-FROG personality Heather Froglear hosting the fashion show. “We have planned a very special program for this fifth edition of The Pink Runway combining an educational program with stellar presenters with our amazing fashion show supporting breast cancer awareness,” said Dr. Subhas Gupta, chairman of Loma Linda University Health System Department of Plastic Surgery. The fashion show will also include special appearances by Bravo TV series “Newlyweds” stars Tina Sugandh and Tarz Ludwigsen and Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey. “We are expecting a huge turnout from the Inland Empire to support our breast reconstruction campaign,” said Dr. Gupta. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Loma Linda University Health System Department of Plastic Surgery’s breast cancer reconstruction education and research efforts.
