On Wednesday, March 16, at approximately 6 p.m., while on routine patrol, Deputy Sandoval attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a blue Jaguar for a traffic violation. The driver, later identified as Juan Osuna, failed to yield and began to speed away from the deputy and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, Osuna was observed throwing multiple items out of the vehicle. The pursuit continued onto the 215 freeway. Sheriff's Aviation assisted and was providing PA announcements to Osuna. The pursuit lasted approximately twenty minutes and terminated in the 2800 block of Vine Street in San Bernardino. Juan Osuna and Carol Martinez were taken into custody without incident. Osuna was booked at the Central Detention Center for felony evading and Martinez was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was booked into the Central Detention Center.
