American Girl Tea

The American Girl Doll project, which is funded by the San Bernardino City Library Foundation, is designed to provide an engaging learning experience for children in our community.

It has been one year since the Feldheym Central Library began checking out American Girl dolls. The doll kits include a doll, carrying case, a book about the doll, and a journal. Children have the opportunity to take home and play with the beloved dolls. They learn about the characters and their place in fictional American history by reading the books. Children contribute to an ongoing story while improving their writing skills by recording the adventures they had with the doll in the journal.

To celebrate the first year of the American Girl Doll project, the Library Foundation is inviting youth between the ages of 8-12 to an American Girl Doll Tea Party on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM in Kellogg Room B at the Feldheym Central Library, 555 W. Sixth Street, San Bernardino.

Members of the Master Preservers and the Master Gardeners will be serving the tea. Each youth will have a gardening project to take home. Attendees are welcome to dress as their favorite American Girl character or dress up in their favorite party clothes.

The event is free, but space is limited. You can register for the tea in the Children’s Room at the Feldheym Central library or by calling 909-381-8235 in advance.
