Mayor's Weekly Message 77

Dear Moreno Valley residents,

As your Mayor, one of my highest priorities is to remain accessible to everyone I represent.  That’s part of the reason I attend so many community events and try to meet and chat with as many people as possible, and why I make sure it’s easy for folks to call and schedule an office appointment with me.  To be responsive to your needs, I first need to listen, and I try my best to do that in several ways.

One of the most fun for me is hosting Moreno Valley’s Telephone Town Hall Meetings.  We had one just last week.  During the Telephone Town Hall Meeting, I call thousands of residents at once and let them ask me questions about our city services and their needs in a talk-radio format.  Last week’s event allowed me to answer many questions in English and Spanish, ranging from what summertime activities the city has to offer, to traffic enforcement, to the safety of our community.

Meetings like this help to engage residents who might not be able to take time to come to a meeting, but who still care deeply about our city and want to be involved.  The Telephone Town Hall Meeting reached thousands of residents for a very informative 60 minutes.

To sign up to be called, please email telephonetownhall@moval.org and provide your name and phone number.

Listening and responding to each other is how we get great things done in MoVal!
