Local Church Has a Blast!

Memories were made, delicious food was served, and souls were saved at a local church’s fireworks stand this past week. Church of Fire In Christ (COFIC), part of the Praise Chapel ministry, is a local haven in Grand Terrace where those who are seeking a truthful approach to the word of God can come and be taught. Like many other nonprofit organizations, COFIC raises funds throughout the year through various activities and programs, the firework stand being one of the major events. Officially opening it’s doors on June 29th this year, and selling all the way up until 11:59pm on July 4th, the church always uses this time to build relationships with each other and those coming to purchase from them. “We don’t just sell fireworks, we are always ready to pray for you!” exclaims Pastor Sophie Carrillo. “People come out to support, like they always do. There’s people eating and having a good time. We’re just having fun here at our firework stand. Every year we come, we just take over the entire parking structure, kids are playing, everybody’s having a good time,” says Pastor Julio Sandoval. The church creates an atmosphere of family for those who come to purchase and sometimes end up staying to eat and get connected. The annual event is a tradition started by Sandoval and his wife Carol 7 years ago.

With an extended invitation to all the surrounding community, Julio and Carol continue to reach out to those who are lost, broken, hurting, and in need of a savior, “We invite you to get connected with our ministry, join us for service and come expecting our big God to do big things in your life.”
