Gathering to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Colton Christian Church at 905 E. Olive St. in Colton, were 122 members, guests and friends. The event's special guest was Janice Baldal, 87, of Redding, an original charter member of the church. The church began with a children’s Bible class in a home on Fairview St. in 1938, then developed into an Adult Bible Study, then to a tent-church at the present location. The present building was dedicated in 1958. Now there are three services, Traditional English morning service at 10:45 a.m.; Spanish Service at 2 p.m. and Contemporary English Service “Living Water” at 6 p.m. Some services include: weekday bible studies in English and Spanish, Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings, food distributions and once a month a hot meal; “Feed the Hungry.”
