As you may have heard, a referendum has been prepared to overturn the City Council approval of the Initiatives that Iddo Benzeevi brought forward to stop all environmental and procedural challenges to WLC's August Council approval. The wording in the initiative petitions, his team circulate, lead people to believe they would get to vote on the fate of the project but alas our Council exercised their power to decide for us. That denied 60,000 registered voters the chance to vote. The referendum circulating will give you that chance to vote for or against this project. It's your choice but the referendum must qualify for the ballot. The petition drive began a few days ago and it is spearheaded by both volunteers and paid signature gatherers. There are also challengers from Iddo's camp circulating petitions to take your name off the referendum petition. Please read what you asked to sign carefully. In some instances those in opposition to what we are doing are making a scene and trying to intimidate folks from signing. Look right past them, stand firm, and sign the petition to let us vote. We are looking for others to help in this effort and would like to hear from you. For those of you interested in a more discrete opportunity to sign we can make arrangement to do so. Hopefully for yourself, family members, friends and neighbors. Please expect a knock on your door, even in the evening, and verify which petitions is before you and sign the petition to bring this to a vote of the people. Thanks for your consideration.
