Easter in Wonderland a Success

The REC Centers of Bloomington, Grand Terrace and Highgrove recently held an Easter in Wonderland event at CalSkate in Grand Terrace. The event was the second annual Easter Egg Hunt that has been hosted by the REC Center. Kids and their families were provided with a brunch, themed crafts and activities, and were given a chance to meet the Easter Bunny. Skating began at 1 p.m., and a celebration organized by Cal Skate themselves began and went through 5 p.m. Each year, the Easter event has a different theme, last year's being "Princesses and Superheroes". Jennifer Araiza, who founded the REC Center in 2012, said she wanted to provide options for children and their families to take part in during Easter. The REC Center provides resources, education, and recreation programs to those who may not have them, or who may be looking for alternatives to the baseball and soccer programs that are available in the cities. Community members can take guitar or computer classes, and kids can sign up for the various summer camp programs offered at low cost.
