Donate Blood to Aid Local Blood Banks

Southern California may be one or more time zones away from freezing conditions that blanket much of the country, but catastrophic weather elsewhere is having a negative effect on local blood supply. LifeStream, as a member of America’s Blood Centers (ABC), participates with fellow blood banks in a shared-resources program that allows members to assist with blood needs of other members. But due to weather conditions in the East, many ABC banks are closed, and LifeStream cannot turn to them for assistance for critical local needs. As a result, members of Southern California communities are being asked to step forward and donate blood so it can be used to aid patients in Southern California who can no longer receive blood from these other blood banks. LifeStream donor centers and hours follow: • San Bernardino, 384 W. Orange Show Road. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and Monday; 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. • Riverside, 4006 Van Buren Blvd. Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday and Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. • Ontario, 1959 E. Fourth St.Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday and Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. • Victorville, 12520 Business Center Drive, Bldg. G: 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Walk-ins are welcome at all locations, but you can set an appointment by calling 1-800-879-4484 or visiting www.LStream.org.
