Grand Terrace Woman's Club Supports Local Libraries

GRAND TERRACE >> The Grand Terrace Woman's Club (GTWC) has shown, year after year, their life-long support for local libraries and schools throughout Grand Terrace. As they have made several monetary and book donations throughout the years, this year was no different—they donated a myriad of books, DVDs, and audio books to several Grand Terrace schools and libraries. On Wednesday, May 25, GTWC put their generosity in action as they donated over 400 books, 20 DVDs and six audio books to the Grand Terrace Branch Library. In addition to their annual donation to the library, this year the club extended their generosity and made donations of 85 books to the Grand Terrace High School Library and 25 books to Grand Terrace Elementary School. After learning that the school libraries simply do not have a budget to buy new books for the students and must rely solely on donations, the GTWC went into action and donated as many books as possible in hopes to better the education of Grand Terrace students. In addition to the book donations, in April of this year, the GTWC made their annual monetary donations to the local school libraries, Grand Terrace Elementary, Terrace View Elementary, and Terrace Hills Middle School, and a substantial donation to the library at Grand Terrace High School, in addition to two $400 scholarships to the high school. The Grand Terrace Woman’s Club has been supporting the community since 1908 and always welcomes new members.
