Voice of the People: Upcoming

I would like to invite the community to lunch Friday, April 4th at the Grand Terrace Lions Club. You are now wondering why? We are looking for people who want to make a difference in their community and are service minded as our motto is "We Serve". It means more than just pancakes, although we do that also. In the past few years the Grand Terrace Lions Club has planted over a hundred trees within our community and in the national forest, supported community sports including Soccer, Baseball, Basketball and Football, Boy Scout Troop 42 and Cub Scout Troop 242, donated proceeds of the pancake breakfasts to the Library at Grand Terrace Elementary School. Performing Arts Program at Terrace View Elementary and the Band program at Terrace Hills Middle School. We donated $5000.00 to the City of Grand Terrace for the Paramedic program at our local Fire Station, developed a Grants Program for the many youth groups at Grand Terrace High school including GTHS Football, Girls Tennis, Golf, band, Dance Cheer and the Engineering Club. We host an eye clinic once a year for those in need, give community scholarships and have adopted the Special needs life skill class at GTHS. There are many more groups we support. The Grand Lions Club proudly sponsors Grand Terrace Community Day, Halloween Harvest and Movies in the Park. Our largest service project is our Community Center where over 40 groups meet each month free of charge. This includes various youth Programs as well as community sports groups and many others. If you are still not convinced that you want to be a Lion stop by for lunch on April 4 or come to a Breakfast meeting. We meet the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 AM.The first breakfast is on us!
