Moreno Valley is holding their 8th Annual Veteran’s Day ceremony held at the Moreno Valley Civic Center on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 3:30 p.m. Major General John C. Flournoy, Jr. Commander, Fourth Air Force, USAFR is this year’s featured speaker. In addition to the featured speaker, community members have an opportunity to show their support for their veterans. Everyone also has the opportunity to support while donating peanut butter (creamy or chunky) and jelly (strawberry or grape) in the “Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive”. The drive is to “support the hospitality service provided by volunteers at March Air Reserve Base’s Hanger 385 for departing and returning war zone soldiers.” In previous years, The Semper Fu #1 Memorial Honor detail from Riverside National Cemetery presented their colors and performed the “13-Fold” Ceremony. The Moreno Valley Master Chorale has also performed many patriotic melodies and tunes. The Knights of Columbus have also been an instrumental part of the ceremony in past years as they lay the wreath in honor of all those who have served. Don’t miss out on the patriotic festivities of this year’s ceremony; it will be one to remember. For more information call (951) 413-3006.
