City of Grand Terrace Accepting Applicationsto Fill Vacancy on the City Council

The Mayor and City Council invite interested residents to complete an application for one (1) vacancy on the Grand Terrace City Council, which occurred because of a Council Member’s resignation on October 24, 2017.

The appointment to fill the vacancy, created by the resignation of Council Member Brian Reinarz, is for the remainder of the first half of the term. The term will expire November 2018. Applicants must be 18 years of age, reside within the corporate limits of the City of Grand Terrace, and be registered to vote in the City of Grand Terrace at the time the application is submitted.

The application period will open beginning October 30, 2017 and applications will be available in the Office of the City Clerk and on the City's website at www.grandterrace-ca.gov.

The deadline for filing the application is November 17, 2017, by 5:00 p.m., in the City Clerk’s Office located at City Hall, 22795 Barton Road, in Grand Terrace. Applicants will be interviewed at a Special Meeting of the City Council to be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.

Appointment Process to Fill Vacant Council Seat Timeline

1. October 30, 2017 applications will be available on the City's website and at City Hall.

2. Completed applications must be received by 5:00 pm on November 17, 2017. Applications may be submitted in person, by mail and by fax (909) 824-6622.

3. Applications will be provided to the City Council in their agenda packet for the Special Meeting scheduled on November 28, 2017.

4. Interviews and selection will take place at the November 28, 2017 City Council Meeting.

5. At the December 12, 2017 City Council Meeting, appointee will take their Oath of Office.
