Councilwoman Victoria Baca Says, 'Vote No Recall'

Councilwoman Victoria Baca is a servant leader and a small business owner with a history of dedication and commitment to the community. Presently, Baca is the only woman serving on the council, and she is the first Latina ever elected to the council. Councilwoman Baca has resided in Moreno Valley for 24 years. She has one daughter and three grandchildren. Education is a priority for Mayor Pro Tem Baca. She is an education consultant and holds a Master of Arts Degree in education. Mayor Pro Tem Baca’s goals are to continue to: • Stimulate economic activity by attracting businesses that: 1.) provide good quality jobs for Moreno Valley residents 2.) generate revenue for police and fire services • Fund afterschool programs for our students • Seek funding to upgrade the water infrastructure system in the Edgemont community - one of the most economically stagnant areas of Moreno Valley. Accomplishments at a Glance: • Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Education • Masters in Governance from the California School Board Association • Citizen of Achievement award, League of Women Voters, 1997 • Mexican American Political Association, Former Inland Empire Regional Director • Moreno Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a founding member • Moreno Valley School District, Board of Trustees, 2006-2010 • The Inland Empire American GI Forum, Member • Congress of Black Women Inland Empire Chapter, endorsement 2014 • National Nonpartisan Latino Peace Officers Association, endorsement 2012 and 2014 • Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG), Current Member • March Joint Powers Commission (MJPA), Commissioner In 2012 Victoria was duly elected to the District 5 seat on the Moreno Valley City Council. Only six months later a failed candidate began a “sour-grapes” campaign to recall Baca. This recall effort failed. So an out-of-town agency was hired and paid signature gatherers were insistent and able to force a recall election upon the people of District 5! There is no valid reason to recall Councilwoman Victoria Baca. VOTE “NO” RECALL.
