Jack H. Brown, Executive Chairman of Stater Bros. Markets, is proud to announce the promotion of Michael Reed to the position of Vice President Real Estate for Stater Bros. Markets. Reed joined Stater Bros. in 2014 as Senior Director of Real Estate, a position he held until his recent promotion. Reed will report to Pete Van Helden, President and Chief Executive Officer of Stater Bros Markets. Reed brings more than 16 years of retail real estate experience to his new position. Prior to Stater Bros., he served as Real Estate Store Development Manager for Starbucks where he was responsible for growing the company’s Mid-West and Western Mountain Regions. He also worked nine years for a major Southern California supermarket chain and rose through the ranks from Real Estate Coordinator to Director of Real Estate. “Michael has done an outstanding job of leading our Real Estate and Property Management divisions,” stated Brown. “His management and proven real estate expertise will continue to help Stater Bros. meet present and future real estate needs,” Brown further added. Reed has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance from Boise State University and has been a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, where he served as the Illinois State Retail Chairman from 2011 – 2013. Stater Bros. was founded in 1936 in Yucaipa, CA, and has grown steadily through the years to become the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California and the largest private employer in both San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. The company operates 168 supermarkets and there are over 18,000 members of the Stater Bros. supermarket family.
