The San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District will be kicking off its annual water-efficient landscape workshop series on Saturday, October 12 with a workshop called California Friendly and Fabulous.
Fall is the best time to plant water-saving, garden-friendly plants. If you are ready to transform your yard into a more sustainable landscape, then this workshop is for you. Attendees will learn how to integrate water efficient plants into your yard, including plant selection, landscape design and placement, and watering needs. Attendees will receive a garden-friendly plant and other landscape resources.

The Water Conservation Workshop Series is brought to you by the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District (Valley District) and the Inland Empire Resource Conservation District (IERCD).
Valley District imports water into its service area through the State Water Project and manages groundwater storage within its boundaries. It monitors groundwater supplies in the San Bernardino and Colton-Rialto basins and maintains water flows at the Riverside Narrows on the Santa Ana River. Valley District covers approximately 325 square miles and spans the eastern two-thirds of the San Bernardino Valley, the Crafton Hills, and a portion of the Yucaipa Valley and includes the cities and communities of San Bernardino, Colton, Loma Linda, Redlands, Rialto, Bloomington, Highland, East Highland, Mentone, Grand Terrace, and Yucaipa.
The IERCD is a public agency that provides preservation, restoration, education and outreach services to over 25 cities and unincorporated communities in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. IERCD operates under the guiding principle that the quality of the environment determines the corresponding quality of life, and works accordingly to improve local habitat sustainability for the benefit of all area dependent species. The Water Conservation Workshop Series is just one of the many events planned and/or participated in by IERCD Board and staff, in an effort to spread the message of the importance of conservation of natural resources.
