In May, high school freshman, Tatiana Moya won the title of Queen at the 2014 Ms. Redlands Junior Teen Beauty Pageant. This was not her first time participating in a pageant. Last year, which was her first year, she won the title of princess in the same contest. Moya's encouragement to participate came from her friend, Ashley Huivar. “She didn’t want to do it alone, so I did it with her to support her,” Moya said. Moya, who just started high school, has an idea of what she wants to do in her future. “I want to be a writer, counselor or therapist of some sort,” she shared. Moya also shared some advice for those girls who are thinking about participating in a beauty pageant. “Just go for it. It’s not something you do everyday and win or lose, you’ll always be someone’s princess.” Jake Kory of Redlands Complete Automotive Repair sponsored Moya in the pageant, donating a total of $500 for her to use for her freshman year at Redlands East Valley High School. Kory shares that in his business, “customers are like family.”
