WINNERS OF 10TH LATINO HISTORY BEE ANNOUNCED

San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) students from across the District’s middle and high schools proved their knowledge of Latino history and took the top prizes during the 10th Annual Latino History Bee on Thursday, March 14 at Indian Springs High School.

 

During the Latino History Bee, questions about Latino history and culture were read aloud and projected on a screen. Participating students answered the questions live using tablets during the two on-stage rounds. A third round of competition was submitted via video and judged in advance of the March 14 event. Winners were determined by the combined point totals from all three rounds.

 

The overall winners were:

·  High School Division

o First Place: Daniela Adame, Arroyo Valley High School

o Second Place: Ava Bogarin, San Gorgonio High School

o Third Place: Alexander Sifuentes, Arroyo Valley High School

·  Middle School Division

o First Place: Andres Gallegos, Curtis Middle School

o Second Place: Nahiara Velandia Perdomo, Arrowview Middle School

o Third Place: Camila Pic, Arrowview Middle School
