MVUSD LCAP Approved for NEW School Year

As part of the state’s school funding formula, districts are required to involve the community to set budget and program priorities. It’s call the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Each year, the Riverside County Office of Education reviews our LCAP plan in a rigorous process. We’re happy to say that after review our plan meets the compliance requirements.

“LCAP ensures we engage with parents, teachers, administration, employees, and the community to establish a district plan to help our students shine brighter with Excellence on Purpose,” Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora said. “Our plan is the guide to keeping us on our upward trend.”
Because of LCAP guidance we have seen a dramatic increase in our graduation rate, up 22% in six years. The rate of 87.6% is higher than the state and national rate of 83.2%. Three of our four comprehensive high schools now graduate over 90% of students.

Other key features of the LCAP to be proud of:
We continue to expand full-day kindergarten offerings, we’ve implemented the International Baccalaureate Program at Vista Heights Middle School and Canyon Springs High School, we have added resources to high school athletics, our Visual and Performing Arts Program has expanded and now offers a variety of instrumental and vocal instruction, we’re supporting an expanded STEAM pathway from North Ridge Elementary, Palm Middle and Valley View High, we’ve added additional elementary AVID sites, expanded Dual Language Immersion and are increasing campus security district-wide.

It’s safe to say LCAP is producing positive results for MVUSD and our community!
