Citrograph Printing Co., the oldest printing company inCalifornia, held their 13th Annual Vintage Tour in Redlands last week at the Ed Hales Park. The Vintage Tour was established to help provide scholarships for college students, and Citrograph has worked together over the years with the University of Redlands in this endeavor. The organization has also just recently started to become more familiar with California State University, San Bernardino. During the event, University of Redlands volunteers helped check participants in and guide them throughout the night. The event took place along Downtown Redlands and was centered around State Street. One volunteer named Ed who helped put on the Tour and said, “It’s a nice thing to do for the community while promoting small business." The tour took groups venturing out among the streets and inside stores along the city's downtown area. Many stores volunteer their space simply to interact with their community. "Tourists" were escorted through banks, stores and restaurants on State Street and enjoyed fine wine, craft beer, and various food samples provided by Hangar 24, Mill Creek Cattle Co., State Street Winery, Jersey Mikes, and more. Event goer Hannah Agon said she was pleased to participate in a good cause and enjoy its serendipity. She said, “I love staying active in my community and it being my first year being legal drinking age makes this event all the more fun." She and friends also made purchases along the way, doing their part to support small business. Agon said, “We plan on doing this again next year! It's so much fun." One of the longest event supporters has been Cabinet Factories Outlet, who has been a part of the Vintage Tour for eight out of the 13 years it has been active. Employee of Cabinet Factories Outlet Renee Demings said, “We love the good beer, good pizza and good music.” Set up in their store was Hangar 24. Hangar 24 offered two kinds of their beer while telling people about their 7th Anniversary Celebration coming up in May, Airfest. New to the Vintage show was local coffee shop Augies. Barista Cass Streeby stated, “This is our first year and we are excited to finally take part in the Vintage Tour." Inside Augies, Snow Line Orchard gave tasters of their Apple cider. Snow Line is located in Oak Glen has just recently started opening for summer due to popular demand. Scott Hudson, manager of Snow Line, said, “Our wines are more of a fruity farm style wine, so they blend smoother while tasting sweet.” The ciders are left untouched and developed their sweet taste over time.
