RMC Foundation Offers Anti-Bullying Parent Classes

Several classes and support groups have been set for members of the community to attend. The Anti-Bullying Institute, a program of the Riverside Medical Clinic Charitable Foundation, will present an Anti-Bullying Parent Class from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, at the Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center. This class is for parents, grandparents or guardians of children who are being bullied. Topics include how to identify bullying and cyberbullying; how to talk to your child about bullying; and how to teach your child steps to stop bullying. The class is sponsored by the United Way of the Inland Valleys, and there is no charge to attend. For more information or to register for the class, please call the Foundation at 951-682-2753. Alzheimer’s Family and Caregiver Support Group: J. Terrence Moynihan, of the Riverside law firm of Moynihan Lyons, will discuss long-term care, medical health care directives, and life-care planning for the Alzheimer’s patient at the Wednesday, June 10, meeting of RMC Charitable Foundation’s Alzheimer’s Family and Caregiver Support Group. The meeting will be held in the Riverside Medical Clinic’s Lower Level Classrooms 1 and 2, located at 7117 Brockton Avenue in Riverside. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting will run from 7 to 8:30. The group is free and participants do not have to be patients of the Clinic to attend. Prostate Cancer Family Support Group: Afshin Rashtian, M.D., Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at The Cancer Center at Riverside Community Hospital, will be the guest speaker for the RMC Charitable Foundation’s Prostate Cancer Family Support Group meeting on Thursday, June 11, at the Riverside Medical Clinic’s Lower Level Conference Rooms 1 & 2, 7117 Brockton Avenue, Riverside. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting will run from 7 to 8:30. The group is free and participants do not have to be patients of the Clinic to attend. Endometriosis Family Support Group: RMC Charitable Foundation’s Endometriosis Family Support Group will meet on Wednesday, June 17, for an evening of support and discussion. The group is open to women over the age of 14 who suffer from the condition or have chronic pelvic pain. Spouses, partners, adult family members and friends are welcome. The meeting will be held in the Riverside Medical Clinic's Lower Level Classrooms 1 & 2, located at 7117 Brockton Ave., Riverside. Autism Family Support Group: Scott B. Ayers, an attorney and advocate for the rights of special education students, will discuss “Understanding the IEP Process” at the Wednesday, June 18, meeting of RMC Charitable Foundation’s Autism Family Support Group. The meeting will be held in the Riverside Medical Clinic’s Lower Level Conference Rooms 1 and 2, located at 7117 Brockton Avenue in Riverside. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting will run from 7 to 8:30. This a free support group and participants do not need to be patients of the Riverside Medical Clinic. Parents, caregivers, adult family members and friends of children and adults who have autism are welcome to attend. Childcare is not provided.
