Multi-instrumentalist and Berklee College of Music alumnus Sagit Zilberman will perform Songs of Peace using rare and unique instruments from across the globe.

Presenter Bio: Sagit Zilberman is an internationally acclaimed musician and meditation/yoga instructor since 2004. Originally from Israel, residing in the U.S. for the past 10 years she allows her cultural roots to mix with her audience’s favorite songs, all expressed upon a myriad of enticing instruments such as the Swiss Hand-Pan a magical steel drum which produces magical harmonies, a simple recorder and her jazzy saxophone.

Sagit received her bachelor of music from Berklee College of Music in Boston, alongside being an instructor/facilitator there for 4 years until 2014, leading mindfulness classes, which apply meditation and yoga to support and guide the musical career path of the Berklee student. Currently, Sagit leads a variety of workshops of healing vibrations of music and guided meditation. The workshop offers healing sounds, familiar music that connects cultures, ages and peoples, and Israeli circle dancing.

Sagit sees music and cultural heritage as tools for mindfulness and encouraging unity, she has performed in over 50 church and community centers in Poland, Germany, and Ukraine, echoing the musical sounds and lyrics of her native Israeli-Jewish traditions.

You can catch her performance on Monday, January 14, 6:00 pm at The A.K. Smiley Library Assembly Room 125 W. Vine St. Redlands, CA 92373.
