The Annie Moses Band from Nashville is coming to the Inland area in March 2014. The concert, sponsored by the Calimesa Community Concert Series, now in its 28th season, and the Loma Linda University Church, will be March 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Loma Linda University church auditorium. Tickets went on sale Jan. 1 and are available online at itickets.com or by calling 800-965-9324. The band is composed of a family consisting of parents, Bill and Robin Wolaver, who are award winning song writers, and their children: Annie (lead vocal, violin), Alex ( lead vocal, viola and the bands producer), Benjamin (cello), Camilla (harp, keyboard, vocal), Gretchen (violin, mandolin, guitar, vocal) and Jeremiah (classical electric guitar). Their background is classical with their concerts being an eclectic blend of classical, folk and jazz with some Celtic undertone. while attending Julliard School of Music, the older children — Annie, Alex and Benjamin — were hand-picked to play in a string quartet coached by Itzhak Perlman. They performed in settings from the Lincoln Center to dinner theaters and churches. The younger children are well underway to similar musical distinction. All have received awards and achievements equal to that of their older siblings. The Annie Moses Band hopes their music will be an inspiration to a new generation of young artisans; the band hosts the Fine Arts Summer Academy in Nashville annually where over 200 students from ages 4-22 years of age come to study music. Just prior to their scheduled appearance in Loma Linda they will have conducted such a school in Long Beach.
