On January 30, 2022, at approximately 1205 hours, San Bernardino Police call center received 911 calls regarding a shooting. Patrol officers were dispatched to 1245 North E Street regarding a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and were told by witnesses that the victim had been dropped off at 2101 North Waterman Avenue (St. Bernardines Medical Center) by a private vehicle. The victim was treated by medical staff where he succumbed to his injuries. Officers secured the scene and conducted an investigation. Based on witness statements, Veloz was shot after an argument with the suspect. Currently, there are no additional witnesses that have come forward with information.
