Officers from the San Bernardino Police Department were out on December 3, 2019 and December 4, 2019 between the hours of 12 p.m. and 10 p.m. and provided extra patrols in the retail business districts. The objective of these extra patrols was to add an extra sense of security for holiday shoppers, along with all members of the community.

During those extra patrols, SBPD officers were afforded the opportunity to interact with business owners, patrons and the citizens of our community. The San Bernardino Police Department strives to ensure the public safety during the holiday season by continuing with these directed patrols. Public safety in San Bernardino is always the primary focus of the San Bernardino Police Department.

SBPD officers were effective in their efforts as several traffic citations were issued, drivers with suspended licenses or who were unlicensed had their vehicles impounded, and various arrests were made. Assistant Chief of Police David Green stated “The Department will continue to display a notable police presence in the upcoming weeks to provide added safety for the City’s retailers and holiday shoppers.”
