At the recent Council Meeting April 16, Council Member Dr.G (Dr. Luis S. González) presented Kathy Dunsmore, owner of So Cal Locksmith, with a  “Business Focus” Recognition Award for her successful business operation in the City of Colton. This long-established company not only has become a mainstay of the business community but is recognized as a leader in locksmith service throughout the county and the region.

This company found its beginnings in the City of Colton. It started in 1975 as the Any Hour Lock & Safe Company, which was located on Mt Vernon Ave. That company continued until 1989 when it became a family-owned business with Kathy and her husband under the new name of So Cal Locksmith. It was at that time the business opened at their current location at 1646 E Washington Street and has since then been the principal business partner of the Canyon Bluffs Plaza.

In 2011 Kathy Dunsmore became sole owner of the company and for 23 years, has built its reputation on excellent customer service, highly skilled technicians, and adaptability to every lock and key issue you can possibly have. She has hundreds of clients, and knows just about everything pertaining to lock, safes, door security and much more.

Their expert locksmith service not only can complete the job on-site, but extends their professional service to anywhere in Colton, the surrounding region and even to other counties. Their website states, “We will respond to your situation with reliable, honest and professional service. Our trained technicians are equipped to respond to your location with the most up-to-date knowledge and equipment, and can assist with any problem in residential, business or commercial settings.” Certainly, if anyone has a need for reliable locksmith service, their company is ready to help. They even make emergency house calls.

Kathy Dunsmore, her family, and her staff are to be congratulated for their success as a local family-operated business in Colton for over 30 years. We truly hope that they will continue their successful business for years to come, and the Colton City Council wants to recognize them for their hard work, great customer service, and excellent reputation; and for making a valuable contribution to our community and to our local economy. Best wishes to So Cal Locksmith for all of their future endeavors.
