In San Bernardino at the Dwelling Place Church, a concert event was held where free food and drinks were given out to the public. According to Pastor Jileen, also known as Pastor Ji, "It's to have a safe place for kids and to get them off the streets. There is going to be a free concert every week on Friday until Aug. 22. All the winners of each week get to compete for a chance in winning a guitar!" Frances Flores shares, "I knew about the event through the church. I come to the church often and heard about the event through Pastor Ed and Ji. They have become recent friends of mine. This is my third time at one of these events. I sang the first time and won. Once you win you can't sing till the 5th round.. I enjoy it! It's family oriented. It's free, their not asking for anything, and it's fun!" One of the performers for the karaoke, Josiah Pattison shares after performing 'Eye of the Tiger' by Survivor, "I was very nervous because I barely knew anybody. It was fun but scary!" Pastor Ji shares, "The artists [that are] here to perform are the judges because they don't know the crowd." After the karaoke, they had the underground rappers Two Face and TraXX perform. TraXX shares, "I did this for them a year ago. I'm here to get the gospel out. I think it is awesome - spreading good music, getting kids off the streets and keeping them out of trouble, good stuff!"
