In the heart of Riverside, a radiant glow has descended upon the historic Mission Inn, heralding the much-anticipated annual celebration - The Mission Inn's Festival of Lights. As darkness falls, the iconic Mission Inn transforms into a magical wonderland, captivating both locals and visitors with its breathtaking display of lights, festive decorations, and joyful holiday spirit.

Now in its 31st year, The Mission Inn's Festival of Lights has become a cherished tradition for families and friends, drawing over 500,000 people from near and far to witness the transformation of this historic landmark into a winter wonderland. This year, the festival officially kicked off on November 18, 2023, and the dazzling spectacle will continue to enchant visitors until January 7, 2023.

The highlight of the Festival of Lights is undoubtedly the awe-inspiring light displays that adorn the Mission Inn's architecture. Millions of twinkling lights cascade down the walls, outlining the intricate details of the building's Spanish Colonial Revival and Mission Revival architecture. The sight is nothing short of mesmerizing, with every nook and cranny of the Inn, bathed in a kaleidoscope of colors.

The aroma of seasonal treats and the sound of cheerful carolers create a festive atmosphere that warms the hearts of all who attend.

The Festival of Lights doesn't just offer a visual spectacle; it's a multisensory experience. Families can take photos with Santa Claus, ice skate, enjoy live entertainment, and indulge in delectable holiday treats from vendors Barrett’s Tamales, Bubba’s Jerky, JC Concessions, Kettle Tyme, Robertson’s Roasted Nuts, The Gingerbread Shop. The Mission Inn's restaurants also take non-guest reservations, allowing visitors to savor the flavors of the season in a historic and picturesque setting.

Local businesses have embraced the festive spirit, with many storefronts adorned with holiday decorations, adding to the overall charm of the downtown area. The Festival of Lights not only brings joy to attendees but also provides a boost to the local economy as visitors explore shops, cafes, and boutiques in the vicinity.
