At the regular Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting held on March 13th, the remainder of the "M" Landmark Improvement Project volunteers were recognized for their efforts of last years renovation "M" project. The main recognition ceremony was held on January 24th at City Hall but many were not able to attend.
Certificates were presented by both the City Council and from the State Assemblyman's Office. Those that couldn't make it to this last recognition ceremony can pick up their certificates at the Conference & Recreation Center in Moreno Valley.
"We did not want to leave anyone out," said Moreno Valley Parks Commissioner James Baker. "We appreciate all of their efforts. It was a team effort and we want to say thank you to all of them."
Commissioner Baker and LaShe Rodriguez presented the certificates to Former Mayor Bonnie Flickinger, who served as the advisor for the project, and Gilbert Brooks, who after working about 4 hours, hiked down the hill to the Lowe's base camp and assisted Baker with the pizza and sodas. "We may have a few more surprises this year that everyone in the city can look forward to," said Baker.
