Spring Out Loud, a 6-week Sunday night series for the whole family, kicked off at Packinghouse Church on May 10. The series includes food, skateboarding, kids games, music and a message of hope. Each event will start outdoors with $5 dinner plates offered at 5 p.m. with authentic Israeli food including falafels and more. Kids games and an inflatable slide will be set up in the grass area at 5:30 p.m. and a 2-hour skatepark for teen skateboarders and scooter riders opens at 6 p.m. All skaters and riders are required to wear helmets. Those under 18 years of age will need a parent signed waiver in person. The Sunday Night worship service will be indoors at 6:30 p.m. with the worship band, special music from a featured musical artist and a Biblical message of hope from Pastor Greg Opean. "Redlands at springtime is just too gorgeous to be indoors too much. 'Spring Out Loud' let's the kids run around and the family can eat some great food before heading into a time of spiritual renewal for the week", says Rick Cornejo, ministry leader of Packinghouse Kids. A free will offering will be taken during the worship service and children's ministry for ages 3 months to 11 years will be indoors starting at 6:30 p.m. Musical guests for the series will include Brenden McPeek and the Soul Reformation, Dominic Balli, Jonathan Thulin and others.

A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.

Photo Caption: Crime in San Bernardino has dropped by 30 percent or more throughout the city. One reason is that there are more officers on the streets. The Police Department’s goal is to have 350 sworn officers. Current full-time staffing is reported at 295 sworn officers and 156 professional staff.
