Loma Linda University Health recently announced the name change of its Heart & Surgical Hospital to Loma Linda University Surgical Hospital. The 28-bed facility located at 26780 Barton Road opened in 2009 to meet the community’s increasing demand for services. LLU Surgical Hospital focuses on inpatient and outpatient services within select specialties. Top-of-the-line technologies including the da Vinci® surgical robot and laparoscopic capabilities are provided in seven operating rooms that support the focus on state-of-the-art care in the following specialty areas: • Minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic); • Obstetric and gynecologic procedures; • Plastic surgery; • General surgery; • Urology; • Bariatric and metabolic surgery; • Ear, nose and throat surgery; and • Vascular surgery. “Surgical Hospital offers treatment and healing for patients with a variety of needs,” says Lyndon Edwards, MBA, MHS, senior vice president of Surgical Hospital. “Our patients consistently report high satisfaction with their experience here, and our new name reflects the diversity of services we offer them.” LLU Surgical Hospital remains a beautiful facility that provides world-class care in a convenient, intimate setting. Located off-campus but close to the main medical center, Surgical Hospital is easy to find and offers easier access. Visitors will appreciate thoughtful, compassionate staff combined with amenities and attention to details that nurture the connection between mind, body and spirit, making for a more serene patient experience. In addition to its 28 beds, 20 of which are private, LLU Surgical Hospital has seven operating rooms, 12 post anesthesia care unit beds, 20 pre-op beds, one interventional procedure suite, two special procedure rooms and an advanced imaging center that serves inpatients and outpatients.
