Chorale Holds Auditions

Experienced singers interested in auditioning for the Inland Master Chorale are invited to attend open rehearsals on consecutive Mondays, Aug. 18 and 25. Auditions will be held by appointment on Wednesday, Aug. 27. “Open rehearsals give newcomers an opportunity to try us out before making a commitment,” explained the Chorale’s Artistic Director Roger Duffer. Guests sing along with current Chorale members learning music for the fall concert to get a feel for the level of expected musicianship as well as the rehearsal routine. Rehearsals are on Mondays from 7 to 10 p.m. in Weeks Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church, One East Olive Avenue in Redlands. Auditions include sight-reading, tonal memory and performing a musical piece selected by the singer. Inland Master Chorale is celebrating their 35th season under the direction of Roger W. Duffer and associate director Melva Morrison, the critically acclaimed Chorale features over 60 talented vocalists from throughout the Inland Empire.
