Titan Wrestling Makes History With Victory!

The 2018-2019 Grand Terrace Titan wrestling team has quickly become the most winningest wrestling squad in the school’s 7 year history. Friday Jan 18th, the squad sealed the deal with a crushing victory over Aquinas High School (SB), to become the first ever Titan Wrestling Sunkist League Champions

GTHS Titan Wrestling Sunkist League Champions Roster:

Team captains- Tony Odenbaugh, Manuel Camacho, Marcos Rubio

Team members-Sabrina Rodrigo, Marissa Gonzales, Maria Odenbaugh, Malaki Mailo, Andrew Amezcua, Jonathan Funes, Cynthia Mendoza, Destiny Ruiz, Gabriel Morales, Ezekiel Cortez, Ruben Hernandez, Michael Rosas, Pablo Arciniega, Jared Truitt, Judith Truitt, Carmen Conchola, Alan Robles, Jenny Diosdiado, Luke Vargas, Daniel Chavez, Marek Watkins, Matthew Ruelas, Rudy Aboytes, RC Rivas, Anthony Correra.

The Titans battled it out at CIF SS Division 3 Team Duals Championship at Lakewood HS on Saturday falling to Bishop Amat. Although the team’s season collectively is complete, 12 out of 12 Titans have individually either taken the League Champion title in their weight class or have placed in the top 3 which qualifies them for CIF.  See below for the League Champions and CIF qualifiers.

160- Alan Robles- CIF Qualifier

182- Luke Vargas- CIF Qualifier

195- Matthew Ruelas- CIF Qualifier

Coaching the Titans to victory this year is: John Odenbaugh, Vincent Rodriguez, Sean Arroyo, and Lalo Gonzales. The wrestlers spend so much time together during the season; they become a part of a tightly-knit family of supportive parents, coaches and their families, and even former students. Coach John Odenbaugh wishes to express his gratitude for all the help and support from the following parents as well: Mr. & Mrs. Rubio, Mr. & Mrs. Correra, Mr. & Mrs. Mailo, Mrs. Vargas, and of course his wife Juanita Odenbaugh.
